We are so excited to welcome Michelle to the Gutmann Laboratory. In her role, she will serve as one of the Gutmann Lab managers. Her previous research experience at the University of Missouri – Columbia was in cardiovascular physiology focused on calcium homeostasis in the heart. Her favorite part of working in the lab was working with the many students that came through the door.
Born and raised in the St. Charles area, she moved to Columbia, MO with her husband to finish her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Missouri – Columbia. After graduation, they both found jobs in Columbia, and decided to stay and start a family.
In the spring of 2023, Michelle and her husband decided to move back to St. Charles, where she was quickly recruited by the Gutmann Lab. Michelle is excited for the opportunity to challenge herself in a larger, cutting-edge lab at Washington University and expand her knowledge and techniques in a new field.
