Club NF Penguin Encounter!

October 6, 2018
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Saint Louis Zoo, 1 Government Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110

The Washington University NF Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital invite you to attend our upcoming Club NF event, a FREE therapy and educational program for children with NF1.

Join us on Saturday, October 6th, at The Saint Louis Zoo. Our adventure will include a behind-the-scenes penguin encounter (where we will learn about conservation and animal care), games and craft activities. These activities will target and promote development of the following skills often delayed in children with NF1:

  • Fine motor skills including handwriting, tying shoes, getting dressed and organizing a school binder
  • Executive function skills such as following multiple-step directions and planning projects correlate to finishing homework or school projects
  • Social skills enable your child to speak in a group, initiate conversation, make eye contact and maintain a conversation

Space for this event is very limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible. Due to the limited amount of space, siblings will not be able to attend these activities. Additionally, please note that this event will run longer than most of our Club NF events, ending at 1 p.m.
