NF Center Receives Grant from St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer
May 24, 2016
The Washington University Neurofibromatosis Center was the recipient of a grant from the St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer to further research on malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs). This research will be spearheaded by Angela Hirbe, MD, PhD, a current postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of David H. Gutmann, MD, PhD.
MPNSTs are highly aggressive cancers that arise in adults with NF1. Dr. Hirbe is focused on finding new treatments for these deadly cancers, and for this project, she plans to expand a collection of patient-derived tumor lines for early drug evaluation.
We are delighted that the St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer is supporting this important work.Categories:
