Dr. Tina Tarnawsky, working with colleagues in the Institute of Informatics, Data Science, and Bioinformatics, used electronic health care records to determine the age and cause of death of adults with NF1. In her study with Drs. Aditi Gupta, she found an early death peak in the fourth decade of life largely due to cancer. Based on these results, Dr. Tarnawsky has been obtaining integrated training in managing young adults with NF1. She will join our team in July as a new Assistant Professor in Neurology.
