Third Degree Glass Factory
5200 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63108
The Washington University NF Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital invite
you to attend our upcoming Club NF event, a FREE therapy and educational
program for children with NF1.
Join us on Saturday, February 9th at Third Degree Glass Factory, for an exciting
event creating glass art. Participants 10 and over will work in the Hotshop,
one-on-one with an artist, to create their own glass art. Participants 9 and under
will work in the Fused Glass studio, with cold glass, to craft their own unique tile
or nightlight. The activities will target and promote development of the following
skills often delayed in children with NF1:
- fine motor skills including handwriting, tying shoes, getting dressed and
organizing a school binder
- executive function skills such as following multiple step directions, and finishing
homework and school projects
- social skills to enable your child to speak in a group, initiate conversation, make
eye contact and boost confidence
Activities are closely supervised by adults to ensure the safety of all participants.
Space is limited for this event, please be sure to secure your RSVP as early as possible.
Club NF is a FREE program that gives school-aged children (grades K – 8) with NF1 the opportunity to experience therapeutic activities within the community setting. The programs are designed by occupational, physical and/or speech therapists from St. Louis Children’s Hospital to challenge and strengthen all areas of development. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend. The Washington University NF Center thanks the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation for making this program possible.
