Club NF – GROWS!

June 5, 2021
10:00 am - 11:30 am

RSVP by May 26, to allow time to ship the activity supplies.

The Washington University NF Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital invite you to attend our upcoming Club NF – VIRTUAL event, a FREE therapy and educational program for children with NF1.

Take time to smell the flowers and grow some of your own! Join us on Saturday, June 5, for a virtual event with the Saint Louis Science Center and design your own flowers and pollinators while we learn about their real-life counterparts and how plants make more plants by pollination. Included is a remedy for people who like to keep plants but forget to water them, we will be making self-watering planters using capillary action. The activities will target and promote the development of the following skills often delayed in children with NF1:

  • Fine motor skills including handwriting, tying shoes, getting dressed, and organizing a school binder
  • Executive function skills such as following multiple step directions,
and finishing homework and school projects
  • Social Skills to enable your child to speak in a group, initiate
conversation, make eye contact, and boost confidence
