Many children with NF1 experience developmental delays ranging from gross motor skills to school skills. NFitness is designed to help our families understand what normal development looks like and to provide suggestions for ways to work on skills often delayed in children with NF1.
Fitness and Development are important considerations in early childhood. To provide current and practical information about your child’s development and fitness needs during this critical period of their life, our Team NF Physical Therapist, Dr. Courtney Dunn, has created a series of short fact sheets.

Sports for Children with NF1
Sports are such an important part of growing up and staying active, but some of the delays experienced by children with NF1 may make certain sports difficult for them. Below are two pamphlets that describe sports that are great for kids with NF1 and ADHD and coordination deficits. Use these to guide you to some wonderful sports options geared towards individual success in sports.
March Motor Madness 2013
All through the month of March 2013 we posted daily activities for our NF Center kids to complete on our Facebook page.
When each child completed the daily activity he or she initialed and dated the activity on the bracket. At the end of the month, all the children who completed the entire bracket, sent us the completed bracket to redeem their prize.
